Is there a better feeling than reaching the top of a mountain pass after a long hot climb, taking your backpacking pack off and taking in the views you worked so hard to see? I don't think so! Goodbye August....you were a wet one! We still managed to get out and have some fun though, with a couple of backcountry camping trips. Looking forward to more adventures in September as the temperatures drop slightly and places become just a little quieter. There was something so incredibly peaceful about hiking past Shadow Lake on our multi day backpacking trip the other week. The rain poured, we hid under a tree for a few minutes and just took in the peaceful scene. We had the whole place to ourselves. In face we didn't bump into many people at all on this long and rainy day!
