Any sites not booked are available on a first come first served basis, however there  is no guarantee of a spot.

To book a site at the Alice Lake Campground, you can reserve up to four months in advance using the BC Parks reservation service.

When we stayed at the Alice Lake campground in early September, the campground was fully booked, but the facilities and sites were really clean and well maintained. There are outhouses around the sites as well as washroom buildings with showers in. Dotted around the Alice Lake campground there are potable water taps as well as dishwashing pits to dispose of dirty water. There are also garbage and recycling cans.

Each individual campsite has the standard picnic table and firepit. The sites, at least in the vehicle accessible sites were mostly large with medium privacy from your neighbours. Considering the size of the campground, it was still very quiet and everyone was very respectful.

There are two day use areas with large parking areas, sandy beach areas and cordoned off swimming areas, although there are no lifeguards on duty here. The water was definitely warm enough to swim in when we visited. The day use areas also have lots of picnic benches on the grass along the shoreline in the day use areas. Between the lake and the campground there is a child’s playpark as well.

The trail around the lake

We stayed at the Alice Lake campground before heading to hike Panorama Ridge, the trailhead for this incredible hike is a 20 minute drive away from the Alice Lake campground. There are also lots of other hikes in the area such as hiking or rock climbing at the Chief just outside of Squamish. You are also a short drive from the Sea To Sky Gondola if you don’t want to hike but still have beautiful views.

There are lots of day use areas along the Sea To Sky Highway to stop and explore as well, including Brandywine Falls and Shannon Falls.

Items You Might Need When Staying At The Alice Lake Campground

Besides the obvious, I lived in my Chaco sandals while we were camping, they were perfect for hanging around camp and completing the lakeshore loop hike. They are super comfortable and you can wear them all day.

A good fold up camping chair is a great addition to any set up, its more comfortable to sit around camp on but you can also take it down to the lake to sit on, so you don’t have to site on a bench in the day use area.

For those looking to hit the water, a stand up paddle board would be amazing while staying at the Alice Lake campground, or an inflatable would be a lot of fun too!

The Alice Lake campground is also in bear country, so make sure to keep a bare campsite but also have bear spray on hand while visiting.
