I’ve spent the last 10 years trying hiking pants women may or may not love! I’ve rounded up my favorite hiking pants women will absolutely want to try, they are all a little different and you may not love them all but I’m sure there will be a winner to suit your needs in this list.
Over the years I’ve heard a lot of complaints from female friends about how hard it is to find good hiking pants women actually like! Ones that fit, flatter and are comfortable to hike in. Regardless of wearing them for day hiking or multi day trips, one thing is for sure, hiking pants women can rely on for all these things, can be hard to come by!
When shopping for hiking pants women have an overwhelming amount of options. I always look for pants which have a DWR treatment so a small amount of moisture will bead rather than soak through the pants immediately. I also, personally, like a small amount of stretch in my pant material for climbing over obstacles.

My Tried And Tested Hiking Pants Women Will Love
Lets jump right into my favorite hiking pants designed for women I’ve absolutely loved over the last ten years. I’ll let you know why I love them but also the things that don’t work for me. To help you decide which pair of hiking pants you should try.
Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Pant
The Eddie Bauer Guide Pro pants were the first pair of hiking pants I purchased. I loved them so much I got another three pairs in different colours! They were comfortable, fit my body well and most importantly, they often went on sale and that made them a very reasonable price compared to other options. When it comes to finding a pair of hiking pants women all love, this is probably the closest I’ve found.
These pants are made with a stretchy fabric, so they are really comfortable to hike in. They feature a few pockets, including zip pockets on the legs. These pockets don’t fit a larger cell phone but are perfect for small things you want to keep safe. They also come in a variety of colours, which is fun compared to a lot of other hiking pants women can choose from, which often just come in earth colours.
What I loved:
Price – They are a great price compared to a lot of other womens hiking pants
Fit – The Guide Pro pants seem to fit almost everyone well.
What I didn’t:
Quality – some of the seams on the pockets completely unraveled.

Fjallraven Keb
People love the Fjallraven Keb pants and when I got a pair for my partner one Christmas, he too, was immediately in love with them. My first issue with these pants was the sizing! I went to the store to try them on because I really wasn’t sure what size I would need and I promptly came to the conclusion I was between sizes and the waistband doesn’t offer a lot of stretch.
I went with the tighter size, not a typical choice but I’ve worn looser pants and had them rub my hips under my overnight packs waist belt, with unwelcome consequences which required the first aid kit. I will say, these pants do give a little and loosen with use, so I was happy with the smaller size. I really enjoy that they come in so many sizes and lengths, making them a fantastic option for hiking pants women of all sizes can likely use.
The craftsmanship in these pants means they are resilient to a lot, with extra strong material where you need it and a more stretch material when you see the most movement. There are zips for ventilation and pockets which fit all your gadgets in, making these a great pant option for most hiking challenges.
What I loved:
Quality – These are hard wearing pants which have lasted a long time
Fit – The Keb pants allow movement in all the right places.
What I didn’t:
Price – These are easily one of the most expensive hiking pants women can find. That being said, you really get what you pay for with these pants.

Mountain Hardwear Dynama 2 Pant
The Mountain Hardwear Dynama 2 pant is a lightweight pant for warmer days. They have a stretchy waistband and a nice fit down the leg, meaning they are super comfortable whether you are hiking or running day to day errands. This makes them one of my favourite hiking pants women should try.
They have a drawstring around the bottom of each leg, so they can be cinched and not drag in dirt or along the ground if wearing sandals.
What I loved:
Comfortable – The Dynama 2 pants are one of the most comfortable pants I’ve worn daily. Particularly the stretchy waistband.
Fit – Due to the stretch and design of the pants, women of most shapes will likely find these fit well.
What I didn’t:
Durability – Due to the lighter nature of the pants they aren’t as durable as some on the list.

MEC Wanderwall Pant
If you are looking for a basic, wear everywhere pant, the MEC Wanderwall pant may be what you are looking for. Of all the hiking pants women may come across, these are super comfortable and look just as good with a pair of flip flops in town as they do on the trail. They have extra patches on the knees where they are most likely to wear and deep pockets for womens hiking pants.
The MEC Wanderwall pants are lightweight and pull on with an elasticated waist. Now there is one major design flaw in these pants and that is that, although the waistband is elasticated, the bottom on the band is not! This means it can be tight to pull up over your hips, which seems silly to me as it is a bit of an inconvenience to get these on in a small tent or tiny outhouse since I need to wiggle them up over my hips. That being said, once they are on, they are oh so comfortable and sizing up helps with the issue of getting the pants over your hips.
What I loved:
Price – The wanderwall pant is a very low cost option for hiking pants women can purchase.
Colours – These pants always come in a range of colours from fun to neutral. There is a pair to suit everyone.
What I didn’t:
Fit – The awkwardness of trying to get them on and off with the lack of stretch in the waistband may be a deal breaker for curvy womens.
