We’ve put together a list of Valentine’s Day gift ideas for the outdoor adventurer in your life. I don’t know about you but I am certainly not a lovey dovey, buy candies and flowers on Valentine’s Day, kind of person, so for those on the same wavelength as me.
Most of these Valentine’s Day gift ideas, I have gifted to my partner at some point or another or they have gifted to me and I’ve absolutely loved them. Items which make camping and hiking a little more comfortable are always welcome and not always something we find we purchase for ourselves but are oh so appreciated.

Top Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas For Your Favorite Adventurer
Socks
Number one on my Valentine’s Day gift ideas list is good socks, Smartwool are our brand of preference and we love them, however the price tag comes in a little more than I’d averagely spend on a pair of socks so they make a perfect gift! I for one would be stoked on a pair of Smartwool hiking socks as a gift.
Garmin Inreach Mini
Nothing says I love you more than gifting a communication device to an adventurer, this great item not only allows them to signal for help if needed but also allows you to message them and track their progress if you aren’t exploring with them. That is a win win in my eyes!
We got one gifted to us last year before our road trip and it is the one thing we never leave home without now. You do need a subscription to use the Garmin InReach Mini, we choose to do ours on a monthly basis and suspend our service during the inter months when we aren’t using it as much.
Camping Pillow
There is always that one person who insists they are happy to sleep with a pillow of folded clothes, a luxury camp pillow will be a game changer they never stop using, making it one the great Valentine’s Day gift ideas. It’s one of those items you don’t think you need until you have one and then you’ll never leave it behind…at least that’s my view on them.
Sleeping bag liner
If you know, you know. I never sleep better in the backcountry than when I have a sleeping bag liner in my sleeping bag. I shuffle a lot when I sleep and the liner allows me to move around so much more comfortably. Not to mention the number of times it’ll save you having to clean your entire sleeping bag!
Camping slippers
Nobody I know regrets owning a pair of these, perfect for a hut trip or camping when it is too chilly for flip flops. Let your partner have the comfiest feet in camp with a pair of camp slippers!
Double Hammock
Who doesn’t want to find themselves cuddled up in a double hammock, looking out at an amazing view, watching the sunset. This is a gift for both of you!
A Great Mug
Ever met an outdoor enthusiast who doesn’t love a good insulated mug?! Didn’t think so! We love our yeti ramblers for morning coffee and tea and a colster to keep our beers cold in the afternoon!
For backcountry hikers, nothing beats a wine carafe and plastic wine glasses to provide a next level comfort experience in the backcountry.
Jacket
I own many many jackets but the best layer I’ve found is the Arcteryx Atom Lt, I gifted one of these to my partner and also got myself one and it is the one layer which constantly makes its way into our packs for every trip. Lightweight, packable and warm, it’s perfect for hiking in the Canadian rockies!
Book A Cozy Getaway For Two!
Nothing beats a cozy getaway in February, especially here in Alberta, where typically it is still freezing! Book a special getaway for two, we love Emerald Lake Lodge, Storm Mountain Lodge or Mount Engadine Lodge for a cozy winter getaway! The lodges are just beautiful and there are lots of great winter activites right on the doorstep.
